Lion's Head Mountain Park
Shitoushan Park (Lion's Head Mountain Park) is an important scenic area located on the protruding Jinshan Cape. It gets its name from the mountain shape, which resembles a crouching male lion. The park features well-planned trails, allowing visitors to overlook the unique sea-erosion landscape of the Twin Candlestick Islets and gaze toward Yehliu in the distance. It is an excellent place to enjoy the sea view and go hiking. The park also preserves remnants of early military fortifications, adding a historical ambiance. The Shitoushan trail is gentle and flat, making it suitable for families to visit and appreciate the natural and historical beauty of the North Coast.
Fugui Cape Lighthouse
The Fugui Cape Lighthouse is located at the northernmost point of Taiwan, making it the island's northernmost lighthouse. This black and white, octagonal lighthouse was originally built during the Japanese rule period and serves as a vital nautical landmark. A trail surrounds the lighthouse, where visitors can admire the unique ventifact (wind-eroded stone) geological landscape and gaze at the magnificent vista where the sea and sky merge. Standing at Taiwan's northernmost point, you can feel the embrace of the sea breeze, symbolizing the blessing of 'Fugui' (wealth and honor).
Wind Art Camp
The Wind Art Camp, formerly a Ministry of National Defense coastal defense military base, boasts an excellent geographical location from which you can watch the sunset plunge into the sea and observe Taiwan's northernmost estuary. It is located near the entrance of Fugui Cape Park. Services offered include handmade drinks, ice cream, waffles, light meals, North Coast specialty products, DIY crafts, and creative merchandise and accessories!
